The members at Brisbane North Electric Model Aero Club are very appreciative of the works our landscaping crew completed levelling out their new runway. After recently relocating from a nearby site, the model airplane enthusiasts encountered a bumpy ride and needed to repair the landing strip before more damage was caused to their equipment. A number of potholes along the strip were too much for their equipment, and had broken the wheels on some of their planes.
A load of topsoil and some time with our bobcat and level bar had the runway in an acceptable state again. With a drop of rain and a few sunny days, the grass will shoot through the newly laid soil and thrive on the additional nutrients.
The local population of magpies also appreciated our work, and lunch was served after the grass and soil released an assortment of insects and worms for them.
